Teachers Victims In Auto Collision

Recent accident victims were two local school teachers who were injured Monday when their car crashed into another driven by John Dudash [?], 717 Parker street, at the intersection of Whitfield street and Poplar Alley.

She was unconscious when admitted to the McKeesport Hospital and was suffering from shock and cuts about the face. Later in the week she was reported as out of danger.

Miss Evelyn Jones, 27, of 1003 Lincoln avenue, the other occupant of the car was treated by a physician for bruises and then taken to her home. She also suffered a severe shock. Both are teachers in the first grade of Crawford school.

Duquesne's Oldest Building Kennedy Estate Barn Razed

The old dilapidated Kennedy estate barn on the corner of South Fourth street and Line alley, owned by Mrs. Ida Bedell, was razed from its foundations this week.

Wooden pegs instead of nails had been used in the construction of this building which was built long before Duquesne became a borough. During its 60 years existence it had been used as a stable, garage, and more recently as a junk yard. Due to its weak and decayed condition it finally became necessary to tear down the structure.

Auto Crashes Into Truck, Three Injured

Three local young people, two girls and one boy, were seriously injured last Saturday afternoon when the car in which they were riding crashed head-on into a parked truck near the Kennywood-Duquesne bridge in Mifflin township.

They were rushed to the Homestead Hospital where the condition of one of the girls, Mary Ka[?]rady, 17, of 739 Richford avenue was found to be critical. She suffered deep lacerations on the right side of the face and a possible fracture at the base of the skull. She was unconscious for several hours following the accident and at the latest reports her condition was unchanged.

Dominic Nessada, 18, of 132 Overland avenue, reputed driver of the car, suffered a severe injury to the left hand and injuries to the left knee. His condition is reported as fair.

The other passenger, Helen Vanus, 17, of 124 Overland avenue, was treated for deep lacerations of the skull and severe injuries to the left side of the jaw and face. Although suffering from severe shock when first admitted to the Homestead Hospital she is reported to be rapidly improving.
