were two local school teachers who were injured
Monday when their car crashed into another driven

the intersection of Whitfield street and Poplar
Alley.
Miss Edith Rawlings, 40,

in Poplar alley on her way to school and Mr. Dudash

accident occurred. She was unconscious when

in the week she was reported as out of

Miss Evelyn Jones, 27, of
1003 Lincoln avenue, the other occupant of the car

Duquesne's Oldest
Building Kennedy Estate Barn Razed
The old dilapidated
Kennedy estate barn on the corner of South Fourth
street and Line alley, owned by Mrs. Ida Bedell,
was razed from its foundations this
week.
Wooden pegs instead of
nails had been used in the construction of this
building which was built long before Duquesne
became a borough. During its 60 years existence it
had been used as a stable, garage, and more
recently as a junk yard. Due to its weak and
decayed condition it finally became necessary to
tear down the structure.
