Civil War Soldiers Not all of these men belong to our family. They have the same last name as our families who lived in these states during the war and may have been related somehow. I've linked the ones that seem to be reasonable guesses to the family member's page. Further confirmation is necessary. Some of this data (in blue type) is from the Civil War Research Database located at Ancestry.com. The database is an abbreviated version (for use by genealogists) of the one being created by Historical Data Systems Inc., P.O. Box 196 Kingston, MA 02364. One of the many sources for the database was the History of Pennsylvania Volunteers 1861-1865, Vol. 1-5, compiled by Samuel P. Bates, 1870. Further data from these volumes was generously looked up for me by Jerome Dittman, a fellow Allegheny County researcher and former Duquesne resident. This additional data is in green type.
