Notes for Mary

My guess that Maggie's mother's name is Mary comes from finding a widowed Mary Phillips in the 1880 Census living next to Benjamin Fife and his wife Mary. Aunt Zella had told me that her grandmother Maggie's maiden name was Phillips, that she had a sister Mollie Fife, and that greatgrandfather Benjamin was named for and uncle Benjamin Young Fife. Mollie is a nickname for Mary. The Mary Phillips in the census was born in Wales. Maggie Phillips' mother was born in wales.
Confirmed guess in 1870 census.

Widow Phillips was living in Lincoln township, Allegheny county at the time of the census (June 8, 1880)
